Buildup  

We are in game week 8 of the FA Women’s National League, Premier Division South, away at Hashtag United. 

After a heartbreaking loss away in the Cup to Portishead Town, we are hoping to bounce back. 

 

The Starting Lineups 

Billericay Town – Mackler, Hickman, Lambe, Birkett, Dalton, Evans, Lempek, Dearing, Ralston, Jones, Smith 

Hashtag United – McSheffrey, Jackson, Johnson, Roberts, Huseyin, Moore, Mulvaney, Nicholls, Kellett, Norton, Samways 

 

The action 

We start the game with Hashtag United kicking us off into game week 8 of the FA Women’s National League, Premier Division South. 

 

Hashtag United are awarded an early corner, which is crossed in towards goal, and Aliyat Lambe manages to head it away to clear it.  

 

Emily Mackler easily clears away an early shot from Hashtag. 

 

Mackler makes an incredible save after we have a scramble in the box from a corner, denying Hashtag. 

 

Hashtag is awarded a free kick after a foul, shoots over the wall, and Mackler tips it onto the crossbar. 

 

Mackler makes an outstanding save to deny Hashtag the opener. 

We are awarded a free kick, taken by Nia Evans, which was crossed toward the box, but unfortunately, it was cleared away. 

 

Hashtag United managed to gain a goal in the 39th minute, scored by number 11, Emma Samways. 

 

Hashtag gains another, doubling their lead in added time at the end of the first half. 

 

Half Time – Billericay Town 0-2 Hashtag United 

 

We kick back off into the second half of the FAWNL Southern Premier Division clash between Billericay Town and Hashtag United. 

 

A third for Hashtag, scored by number 10, Macey Nicholls, after she manages to find a small gap in our defence and slots it through, barely passing Mackler. 

 

Hashtag gained a fourth, with a through ball being crossed into the net and managing to chip our defence, and slotting into the back corner of the net. 

 

We are awarded a corner, Nia Evans takes it, crossing it toward the box, but unfortunately, no one manages to get a head on it. 

 

Hashtag gains a fifth, after a free kick is taken straight towards the goal, rebounded away by Mackler, and Nicholls unfortunately manages to grab the rebound. 

 

We are given a free kick after Abbi Smith was fouled to the left of the box, taken by Nia Evans, passed to Smith, who takes a shot, but her shot, unluckily, goes just wide of the post. 

 

Hashtag has a sixth, minutes before the final whistle. A shot being taken straight through the defensive wall and shot into goal.  

 

Hashtag is awarded a penalty, taken by Meleri Mullen, and shot straight into the goal, managing to chip Mackler 

 

A corner is awarded to Hashtag, being taken into the box and Mackler makes a superb save and knocks it away. 

 

Full Time – Billericay Town 0-7 Hashtag United 

 

Another tough loss to take away at Hashtag with a 7-0 loss, we gained a fair few chances, but the game didn’t go our way today 

All focus shifts to Sunday, where we face Exeter City in the League at New Lodge. Hopefully the home advantage will propel us to gain our first 3 points of the season.
