Buildup  

We are in game week seven of the FA Women’s National League, Premier Division South away to Oxford United 

 

The Starting Lineups 

Billericay Town – Mackler, Ralston, Lambe, Hickman, Jones, Windsor, Birkett, Evans, Smith, Hart, Lempek 

Oxford United – Wookey, Wiseman, Bedeau, Casley, Barrett, Legg, Thompson, Jenkins, Palmer, Barker, Manders 

 

The action 

We start the game with Oxford’s number 10 Emma Thompson kicking us off into game week 7 of the FA Women’s National League, Premier Division South

Oxford have an early chance with a cross into the box, but Emily Mackler manages to get a hand on it and brings it down 

The Yellows nearly manage to gain a goal in the sixth minute, with a cross landing on Legg’s head, going past Mackler. Luckily the flag goes up for offside. 

​

Oxford manage to gain an unlucky goal after Emma Thompson collected a pass and propelled the shot, flying past Mackler’s hand and going straight into the back corner of the net 

​

Mackler makes an incredible save in the middle of the goal after Maisy Barkers shot lands on target and nearly goes straight in 

Goal number 2 for Oxford, with a goal from Holly Manders, a cross was made into the box and landed on her foot which was taken straight towards Mackler and managing to slot into the goal 

​

And we nearly have another for Oxford within a minute of Manders goal, but luckily the flag goes up for offside. A second disallowed goal for Oxford 

​

The Yellows have another in the 35th minute, Barrett with a cross which this time finds Barker driving in to the box and slotting the ball straight into the net 

​

Oxford gain a fourth on the brink of half time, scored by captain Naomi Bedeau after a deftly placed cross from Palmer finds Bedeau who heads the ball home 

 

Half Time – Billericay Town 0-4 Oxford United 

 

Erika Lempek kicks us back off into the second half of the FAWNL Southern Premier Division clash between Billericay Town and Oxford United

Oxford have a fifth just after the whistle is blown for the second half, with a second goal for Holly Manders after a ball over the top from Jenkins finds Manders driving towards goal 

​

Oxford gained another in the 49th minute when Bedeau sends the ball forward to Legg who buries the ball in the back of the net 

We gain a free kick on the left corner of the box, which is taken by Abbi Smith, crossed towards goal but Beth Wookey manages to get a hand on it 

​

Oxford gain a seventh in the 72nd minute, with a second for Thompson 

​

We have an eighth for Oxford after a thunderous strike from Maisy Barker hits both posts and goes into the back of the net 

Oxford have a ninth after a free kick was taken by Holly Manders and is sent into the top corner 

 

Manders takes a corner and Gibson leaps into the air to make it 10 for Oxford. 

 

Full Time – Billericay Town 0-10 Oxford United 

 

Another tough loss to take away at Oxford with a 10-0 loss, we gained a fair few chances, but the game didn’t go our way today 

All focus shifts to Tuesday evening, where we face Wycombe Wanderers in the Isthmian cup
